PURPOSE: To inexpensively remove the pyrogen adsorbed on a pyrogen adsorptive material by subjecting the pyrogen adsorbed on the pyrogen adsorptive material to a heating treatment in a basic aq. soln.
CONSTITUTION: The pyrogen adsorptive material refers to hydrophobic polymers, such as polypropylene, polyethylene and polystyrene, and compds. having ≥2.50 logP value or materials formed by fixing these compds. to a porous cellulose gel. The concn. of the basic aq. soln. is preferably 0.05 to 5N and the temp. at which the pyrogen is subjected to the heating treatment is preferably 10 to 90°C, more preferably 30 to 80°C. The effect similar to the case of a high concn. is obtd. by heating at a high temp. if the basic aq. soln. is of a low concn.
