Title:
METHOD FOR REMOVING SULFUR COMPONENT CONTAINED IN CHLORINE GAS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004276023
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for removing a sulfur component contained in a chlorine gas (1) without increasing moisture content.

The removal method comprises removing the sulfur component by bringing the chlorine gas (1) containing the sulfur component into contact with a metal oxide (2). For example, the metal oxide to be used is a particulate consisting of an aluminum oxide, a titanium oxide or a silicon oxide with the BET specific surface area of 10 m2/g or more and the pore volume of 0.05 cm3/g or more for the pore sizes of 0.1 μm or more to 1 μm or less in radius. Thereby, a pure chlorine gas (1') which does not contain the sulfur component can be easily provided.
