Abstract:
PURPOSE: To remove scales highly efficiently without lowering a material temperature by actuating a planetary mechanism having a brush consisting of a steel plate and a refractory material.
CONSTITUTION: A heat-resistant brush 3 is implanted in a planetary rotating roll 2 which rotates on the circumference of a revolving disk 1 revolving at a revolving speed. A speed difference is produced between the surface speed of a hot steel billet 4 and the rotating speed of brush 3. A shearing force is produced between the brush 3 and the surface layer of billet 4 by the speed difference, and the scales of ahe surface layer of billet 4 are removed by the shearing force.
