Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent a water-intake screen from being clogged with dust.
CONSTITUTION: A large number of high pressure jets J are injected toward the front dust D from approximately adaptable height to the water level in that point in the vicinity of a water-intake screen 1, and the dust is removed from the front thereof. In order to execute the method mentioned above, an injection pipe 21 is laid in the vicinity of the water-intake screen. Injection nozzles 22 are opened forward from gaps of vertical bars of the screen to the pipe. The nozzle to be injected only to the injection pipe is selected to use a device connected to a compressor pump 23 through a control valve 24 controlling an injection position. According to the constitution, it can easily be executed in the case some additional works are added to the existing equipment. Dust is not involved in separated removal by a rake, etc., so that the conveyance and treatment of the dust are not required, and a burden of maintenance remains slight. The loading of the screen is prevented at a low cost, and smooth water-intake is ensured.
