Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently separating and removing thallium contained at a low containing rate in flue cinder produced in a copper smelting process and the like.SOLUTION: In a method for removing thallium,: flue cinder containing thallium is made to a flue cinder slurry having a sulfuric acid concentration of 0.3 N or more and less than 4 N; thallium is leached by continuously adding potassium permanganate so that the oxidation reduction potential of the flue cinder slurry is kept in a range of 960 mV or more and 1,350 mV or less until the finishing of leaching; and specifically, the leaching rate of thallium is 75% or more.
