To provide a method for efficiently removing an underground obstacle with less noise and vibration.
A method for removing an underground obstacle comprises: a first step of making a casing 3 having cutting blades 3a cut into a concrete underground obstacle such as an underground wall 2a or an underground beam 2b to a required depth while rotating and pressing the casing 3 by a rotary press-in machine 1; a second step of suspending a crushing device 7 consisting of a breaker 5 or a scissors-type crusher tiltable at a required tilt angle relative to a device body 4 by a crane, arranging the crushing device 7 along the inner peripheral surface of the casing 3, and breaking the underground obstacle in the casing 3 by the breaker 5 or the scissors-type crusher; and a third step of grabbing debris 22 broken by the breaker 5 or the crusher of the crushing device 7 by a hammer grab 23 to discharge the debris onto the ground. The three steps are repeatedly performed.
