To provide a method of renewing piping of a building remarkably reducing outbreaks of the noise, vibration and dust when removing the existing piping, and preventing outbreaks of a gap vertically passing through a piping hole between a piping material for renewal and the piping hole by only inserting the piping material for renewal into the piping hole, and to provide a piping material to be used for this method.
The existing piping provided by passing through a floor slab S is cut on both sides of the floor slab, and a residual pipe part of the existing piping left in a supported state by the floor slab S by cutting is drawn and removed in the vertical direction. Thereafter, a piping material A including a pipe body 1, which is formed of a thermal expansive fire resistant pipe having an outer diameter smaller than the diameter of the pipe hole H, and a rib 2, which is provided to be projected like ring around the pipe body 1 and having an outer diameter larger than the inner diameter of the piping hole H, is inserted into the piping hole H passing through the floor slab S and formed by drawing the residual part of the pipe so that the rib 2 enters the piping hole H and that the rib 2 is elastically deformed to be in pressure-contact with the inner wall surface of the piping hole.
