Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slitted erosion control dam which has a structure that ensures safe work and enables work by large-scale heavy equipment on the downstream side of the dam at the time of renewing the dam, and to provide a method of renewing the dam.
SOLUTION: An earth pressure bearing member is abutted on horizontal beam members detachably attached to the downstream wall surface of the dam, which forms a slit. While earth pressure at the slit is borne by the earth pressure bearing member, fixing means for fixing the horizontal beams are removed, thereafter the earth pressure bearing member is gradually detached from the slit, earth, stones, and sand gravel are removed from the slit.
