PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent repairing effect by pouring cast refractory having larger coefficient of residual expansion than a lining refractory into the repairing part of the lining refractory after using to execute the refractory work, in a molten metal vessel lined with the monolithic refractory.
CONSTITUTION: As the coefficient of residual expansion of the repairing material 3 executing attaching work is larger than the lining refractory 2, the repairing material is kept to the stickness at the time of cooling and does not develop gap between the lining refractory and a the repairing material. Further, the repairing material having large coefficient of residual expansion generally has a large coefficient of hot expansion and sticks to the lining refractory even in the high temp. at true time of receiving molten iron and molten steel into the molten metal vessel. In such a way, as the repairing material is always closely stuck during using regardless at the time of cooling and heating, the molten metal and molten slag are not invaded between the repairing material and the lining refractory and detachment of the repairing material is prevented. In this way, particularly, as the molten iron has a lower m.p. and viscosity than the molten steel and is easily invaded into the repairing layer, this lining method is effective in the lining of a molten iron pretreating vessel.
