PURPOSE: To repair the damaged refractory material part without stopping the operation by charging the agglomerated material easy to pulverize with heat, etc., into the rotary kiln, and coating the generated powder on the surface of the damaged refractory material part.
CONSTITUTION: When the damaged refractory material part is present on the outlet side of a kiln, the TiO2 content in the raw pellet to be charged is increased, and a means to obtain a formulation easy to form a low-m.p. compd. can be used. As a result, a part of the low-m.p. compd. is eluted due to the heat in the high-temp. zone at the outlet part of the kiln to accelerate pulverization, the low-m.p. compd. is coated on the surface of the damaged refractory material part, and the refractory material is repaired. When the damaged refractory material part is present on the inlet side of the kiln, the crushing strength of the pellet can be decreased in consideration of the mechanical factor acting on the part.
