PURPOSE: To easily repair the worn part of the refractories of the tap hole in the upper part of a sliding system to an original exact shape.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical body 2 made of the refractories is formed perpendicularly in a positioning member having a positioning part on its outside surface coaxially with the inside hole of this positioning member. A repair unit fitted with a cap 14 is used for the top of this cylindrical body 2. This repair unit is inserted into the tap hole of the upper part worn from the outside surface of the vessel bottom toward the inside surface and a repair material made of the refractories is packed into the spacing between the worn tap hole of the upper part and the outside surface of the repair unit. A cap 14 is thereafter ejected down by using a rod or air pressure. The positioning member and cylindrical body which are discretely formed may be joined to each other or both may be formed as an integral unit.
