Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for replacing electric motor for driving a continuous rolling mill which shortens the period of rolling mill stoppage due to motor replacing work into within three days per stand.
SOLUTION: When replacing the electric motor for driving the continuous rolling mill, the electric motor (example: DM12) being a present object of replacement is hung and transported using a gantry crane 9. Further, a deck 5 for temporarily placing an electric motor is provided above an existing electric motor (example: DM33) which is not a present object of replacement and the electric motor is replaced through the deck.
