PURPOSE: To reproduce a map rapidly and exactly at low cost, by forming a black printer negative film and a brown printer negative film from a topographical map coated with an oily liquid on the reverse face, forming a positive film from the former, masking the latter with this positive film, and correcting color of the brown printer negative film.

CONSTITUTION: The reverse side of the topographical map is coated with an oily liqud. A negative printing paper is brought into contact with the front surface of the map and exposed to obtain a negative film. At that time, a black printer negative film having only a black color and a brown printer negative film consisting of black color and brown color are formed from the topographical map expressd in black and brown colors by controlling the exposing light. Since the map is coated with the oil in this exposure operation, a very sharp negative film is obtained. A positive film is formed from the black printer negative film, and used as the mask of the brown printer negative film, color correction is completed, and the map is reproduced by using only the brown printer negative film.
