Abstract:
PURPOSE: To restore or flatten a depressed metal plate nearly completely in a short time without disassembling it from the body by means of a simply structured instrument, and also to prevent the paint on the surface from being peeled during the restoring process.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent lamp 2 is arranged parallelly on one side of the metal plate 4 to be restored, and a worker is positioned on the side opposite from the fluorescent lamp 2, with the tip of an instrument having a pointed tip and a curved end part placed under the depressed part of the metal plate 4. Using a contrast between the light and shade of the reflected image by the fluorescent lamp 2, the tip of the instrument is precisely placed under the center of the depressed part of the metal plate 4, with a light pressure applied repeatedly such that a force is imparted to the handle of the instrument in a levering-up manner and the released quickly until the depressed part is restored.
