PURPOSE: To prolong a service life of rolling guide shoes by fitting the rolling guide shoes by reversing the inlet side and the outlet side after using the rolling guide shoes for a necessary rolling period of time.
CONSTITUTION: A worn-out state 6 of the guide shoes 5 after being used for a specified period of time is shown and although a center line part in the longitudinal direction of the guide shoe 5 is worn out at the inlet side part, wear concentrates on an upper half part of the guide shoe toward the outlet side. Accordingly, after the rolling guide shoes 5 set up on the rolling mill inlet side are used for a necessary rolling period of time, these are fitted by reversing the inlet side and the outlet side. The shape of the guide shoes 5 is preferable to be made to point symmetry. In wear of the guide shoes 5, wear 6A before reversal is not superimposed on wear 6B after reversal. Consequently, a tool consumption unit can be halved without spending expenses.
