Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a rolling control method of a reeler capable of providing a tube of uniform length after passing a sizer.

CONSTITUTION: A control device 7 obtains the mean wall thickness of a hollow shell H on the outlet side of a plug mill 10 based on the detected result from screw down position detectors 15, 15 and load meters 16, 16. The control device 7 is preliminarily provided with the correlation function between the error in the extended length by the sizer and the mean wall thickness of the hollow shell H after passing the plug mill 10, and the control device 7 calculates the error of the rolling length by the sizer by substituting the mean wall thickness of the hollow shell H in the correlation function. The control device 7 corrects the target rolling length by the error of the rolling length to obtain the elongation strain. The control device 7 calculates the target power to be fed to motors 3, 3 based on the elongation strain, and controls the elevating action of screw down equipment 4, 4 to adjust the screw down position of rolls 2, 2 so that the power detected by power detectors 8, 8 may be the target value.
