To provide an apparatus for roll hemming which does not require a die, thus to obviate the period required for the designing and production of a die.
In the apparatus for roll hemming, a flange 30 with a shape in which the bending part 12a of an outer panel 12 stands up is bent to the inside direction of the outer panel 12. The apparatus 10 for roll hemming comprises a robot 18 and a working tool 20 fitted to the tip of the robot 18. The working tool 20 comprises a first roller 34 of supporting the bending part 12a and a second roller 36 of pressing the vicinity of the bending part 12a supported by the first roller 34 in the flange 30, and integrally moves along the bending part 12a. The orientation and posture of the second roller 36 are set by the first to fourth cylinders 38a to 38d.
