In rolling a rolled material using a rolling mill with a shift mechanism axially shifting work rolls and a cross mechanism crossing upper and lower work rolls, for all the rolled materials to be rolled in a rolling cycle, the work roll shift positions for all the rolled materials are determined so as to bring a work roll profile of a contact part between the rolled material and the work roll to a target profile, then for each rolled material, a crossing angle of the work rolls is determined from an estimated work roll profile, an estimated rolling load and a target plate width.
