Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling method of metallic foils especially for raising productivity and for obtaining a good shape of a sheet concerning the rolling method of the metallic foils with a multistage roll mill.
SOLUTION: This multistage roll mill consists of a pair of upper and lower work rolls 2, 2', plural upper and lower intermediate rolls 3, 3a, 3', 3a' for supporting the work rolls and plural upper and lower divided back-up rolls 4a-4c, 4a'-4c'. In such a case, at the time of rolling the metallic foils, the intermediate rolls which are shape-control terminals are structured so as to be respectively independently movable in the direction of amplitude, totally two pairs of respectively one pair by one pair of two kinds of roll crowns a1, a2 which are gradually tapered are imparted on one side of the intermediate roll, also each of a pair of the intermediate rolls are arranged symmetrically on the inlet and outlet sides of the multi roll mill, changing the directions in which the same roll crowns of the intermediate rolls are imparted, changing the direction in which the different roll crowns of the intermediate rolls in the upper and lower parts of the multi roll mill and the travel of each intermediate roll is controlled corresponding to the sheet shape on the outlet side of the rolling mill.
