PURPOSE: To prevent seizure flaws or the like caused by the burning on the surface of a guide shoe and to improve the quality by rolling a material to be rolled while supplying the aq. solution of swelling mica at least one place between the material and the guide shoe in cross helical rolling.
CONSTITUTION: In order to reduce the burning between the surface of the guide shoe and the material 2 caused by the slippage between the material 2 and the surface of the guide shoes 4, the rolling is executed while supplying the aq. solution of swelling mica or a swelling agent 10 consisting the aq. solution of swelling mica into which a powdered solid lubricant is mixed at least one place between the material 2 and the guide shoes 4. Thereby, there is no slippage between the rolling rolls 1 and the material 2. It is preferable that the content of swelling mica in the lubricant is 1.0-30.0wt.%. In this way, seizure flaws, scabs and pits are basically prevented.
