Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the bottom of a tube from being cut off without generating inside scratches and blocking the bottom, improve the rolling efficiency and carry out high quality of rolling.
CONSTITUTION: The terminal of a tube material 4 which is delivered along a pass center X-X and rolled by inclined rolls 1, 1 as it is prevented from being expanded outward by disk rolls 2, 2 is detected by a terminal sensor 54 arranged on the inlet side of the inclined rolls 1, 1 and the detected values are given to an arithmetic and control unit 51. After a terminal detection, the arithmetic and control unit 51 gives actuating commands to roll automatic positioning devices 52, 52 and a plug automatic positioning device 53 after the course of a prescribed time. In accordance with these actuating commands, without changing a draft of the tip of a plug 2, the roll automatic positioning devices 52, 52 increase the opening between the inclined rolls 1, 1 and the plug automatic positioning device 53 decreases the advance quantity of the plug 2.
