Abstract:
To provide a method for saponifying treatment giving a cellulose acylate film suitable for a protection film of a polarizing plate good in the surface condition free of point defects.
This method for saponifying the cellulose acylate film is conducted by treating with an aqueous alkali solution whose hydroxide ion concentration and ionic strength satisfy following formulae (A): 0.05 mol/L≤hydroxide ion concentration≤5 mol/L and (B): 1.05≤ionic strength/hydroxide ion concentration≤5.00 (B).
