Title:
METHOD FOR SCANNING AND DETECTING MANY PHOTOGRAPHS AND REMOVING ARTIFICIAL EDGE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3883696
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for scanning many photographs, deciding the number, position and inclination angle of the photographs and trimming images so as to remove artificial edges.
SOLUTION: The plural photographs are installed on a scanner (step 32) and low resolution scanning is performed (step 31). Then, plural polygons provided with low resolution images are formed (step 36) and the number of the polygons is decided (step 38). Then, the number of the polygons is compared with the number of the photographs (step 40), and in the case that the number of the polygons is less than the number of the photographs, the overlapped photographs are rearranged (step 42), the low resolution scanning is performed and succeeding steps are repeatedly performed. Then, the inclination angle and position of the respective photographs are decided (step 44) and a first photograph is selected (step 46). Then, the first photograph is scanned by a high resolution (step 50) and the inclination of high resolution images is corrected (step 52). Then, the high resolution images are trimmed so as to remove the artificial edges.
