Abstract:

To provide a medicine screening method with which a substance to inhibit cell adhesion and/or cell migration of a polymorphonuclear leukocyte without using an animal for examination is inexpensively and simply screened.

The cell adhesion ability of the polymorphonuclear leukocyte is evaluated by adding at least a polymorphonuclear leukocyte, a test specimen and an activator for the polymorphonuclear leukocyte to an adherent substrate coated on a solid supporting body and assaying the adherent cells of the polymorphonuclear leukocyte to the adherent substrate. A substance to inhibit the cell adhesion and/or cell migration of a polymorphonuclear leukocyte is inexpensively and simply screened in a short time without carrying out an animal experiment to efficiently develop a medicine.
