To provide a method for screening a substance relating to the ability to inhibit heparanase activity.
This screening method contains a step to interact a heparanase substrate binding protein immobilized on a solid support with a labeled heparanase substrate to provide an immobilized labeled heparanase substrate, a step to interact a heparanase enzyme solution with the immobilized labeled heparanase substrate in the presence of the substance, and a step to detect the presence or absence of the label in the solution remote from the solid support. The labeled heparanase substrate may be bound to an immobilization bridge part bound to the immobilized molecule on the solid support to provide the labeled heparanase substrate immobilized to the bridge part.
