Abstract:

To provide a method for screening a therapeutic agent for disturbance of memory caused by Alzheimer's disease, or the like.

This method for screening the therapeutic agent for the disturbance of the memory comprises allowing a testing specimen to be present or to be present instead of at least one kind of a noggin protein, a fibroblast-growth factor and a sonic hedgehog protein, and selecting the testing specimen not affecting the differentiation and proliferation of cholinergic neuron in a process for forming embryoid by subjecting embryonic stem cells to suspension culture in the presence or absence of the noggin protein, subjecting the product to suspension culture in the presence of the fibroblast-growth factor and the sonic hedgehog protein to proliferate neural stem cells, and differentiating the neural stem cells to produce a cholinergic neuron.
