Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily select a same type program by automatically retrieving information on a source transmitting the program of the same type in arbitrary channel selection. CONSTITUTION: First and second tuners 2 and 6 detecting video signals inputted through an antenna 1, a VPS decoder 3 for detecting and decoding a video program system(VPS) code from the video signal outputted from the first tuner 2 and a TTX generation part 7 for detecting and generating the TTX code from the video signal outputted from the first tuner 2 are provided. The program is detected by using the VPS code detecting information on at least start time for the program transmitted from a broadcasting station. When the channel of the broadcasting station transmitting the detected program is made to correspond to the arbitrary channel, a user can recognize the channel of the broadcasting station transmitting the program of the same type through arbitrary channel selection and he can easily select the channel to be viewed.
