Abstract:

To simply and safely use an amine oxidant repeatedly by using a resin, comprising amine oxidant by adsorption as a catalyst to be used for the selective oxidation reaction of an organic compound having a primary hydroxyl group.

When preparing glucuronic acid or glucuronolactone, the intermediate of glucuronic acid or glucuronoclactone is prepared without using a nitrogen oxide as a oxidizing agent by using an amine oxidant as a catalyst at the time of oxidation reaction of saccharides. It this case, when preferably oxidizing a primary hydroxyl group of an organic compound, including saccharides or the like, a catalyst is used which comprises a polyacrylic, polystyrenic or polyalkylenic resin in which amino oxidant is adsorbed, as an amine oxidant-absorbing resin carrier. Further, an oxide containing halogen or an electrolytic oxide of a chemical compound containing halogen is used as the oxidizing agent, in the presence of the chemical compound containing halogen, to realize the simple and efficient oxidation reaction.
