Abstract:
To provide a method of semi-carbonizing biomass including lumber, capable of producing a uniform semi-carbonized product from biomass including lumber by enabling to keep the temperature of air blown to an object to be carbonized and to control the treatment time thereof, and a device therefor.SOLUTION: The method of semi-carbonizing biomass includes: inserting a blow-in pipe 4 for blowing hot into a cylindrical rotary shell 1, which is rotationally driven while storing an object W to be semi-carbonized, in an axial direction; branching many branch pipes 4A from the blow-in pipe 4; and blowing hot air at a prescribed temperature in a range of 220°C to 430°C with a very small amount of oxygen for combustion to the rocking object W to be semi-carbonized in the rotary shell 1 from the branch pipes 4A under a negative pressure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
