PURPOSE: To make a process for carrying long vegetables such as asparagus to a specific portion simple and rapid and to realize automation inexpensively by binding the vegetables by a desired amount with their foot end faces aligned.

CONSTITUTION: Long vegetables 6... cut into an equal length in advance are put into a tilted cylinder 12 which reciprocatingly swings fore and aft with their foot end faces 6a downward in a lengthwise direction, and swinging causes their foot end faces 6a to be mounted on a shutter 16 into alignment. Then the shutter 16 is opened, the long vegetables 6... in the tilted cylinder 12 are dropped onto a receiving plate 7, and the receiving plate 7 is lowered in this state so that the vegetables 6 are carried to a coupling portion with a hand arm 19 or the like in a binding process mechanism.
