Title:
METHOD FOR SENSING ABNORMALITY OF EXPANSION VALVE AND AIR CONDITIONER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000274896
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for sensing the abnormality of an expansion valve and an air conditioner wherein each apparatus itself can sense the abnormality of the expansion valve to prevent failure of each apparatus in a refrigeration circulating cycle.

The air conditioner includes a compressor 11 for refrigerant, a condenser 13, electronic expansion valves 15, 16, and evaporators 17, 18. Temperature sensors 17-T1, 18-T1 are provided between the valves 15, 16 and the evaporators 17, 18, respectively to sense the temperatures of the evaporators 17, 18. Temperature sensors 17-T2, 18-T2 for sensing suction air temperatures are provided in the suction ports of the evaporators 17, 18, respectively. These sensors are connected to an abnormality sensing device 20. The device 20 senses the abnormality of the expansion valves 15, 16 based on sensed temperatures of the sensors.
