Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11218869
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a silver halide photographic emulsion high in sensitivity by using a specified compound.

The sensitizer to be used is a compound represented by the formula: PtXm(PR1R2R3)n in which X is a halogen atom, such as F, Cl, Br, or I; (m) is an integer of 1-5; (n) is 1, 2, or 3; and each of R1-R3 is, independently, 1-5C alkyl group, such as methyl, ethyl, propyl, or isopropyl group and R1-R3 may be each the same as or deferent from each other. This sensitization method can be used in combination with gold and/or a chalcogen atom, such as S, Se, or Te, thus permitting the obtained photographic emulsion to have high sensitivity.
