Title:
METHOD FOR SEPARATING CERTAIN ELEMENT FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION RESULTED FROM REPROCESSING OF USED NUCLEAR FUEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3241475
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily separate a specific element from an aqueous solution resulting from reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel at a high recovery by bringing the aqueous solution into contact with a solid resin composed basically of a vinylpyridine polymer or copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: In a method for separating certain element from aqueous solution, at least one kind of element selected from among Nb, Sb, actinides, Ce, Pr, and group IIb and III elements on the table of periodic law of elements existing in an aqueous solution is separated. The used vinylpyridine polymer can be poly-2-(vinylpyridine) or poly-4-(vinylpyridine)copolymer. The vinylpyridine copolymer is, for example, the copolymer of vinylpyridine and divinylbenzene. It is preferable to use poly-4-(vinylpyridine) which can be crosslinked with divinylbenzene and expressed by the formula. It is also preferable to use a resin having the form of general powder and a grain size of 15-60 mesh.
