Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating cobalt and tungsten, which enables a cobalt raw material having little impurity to be recovered more easily, efficiently, and inexpensively from Co-W scrap, more specifically, from a cobalt and tungsten-containing alkali leach residue derived from the Co-W scrap.SOLUTION: The method for separating cobalt and tungsten comprises: an acid leaching step S1 of adding a mineral acid to an alkali leach residue containing cobalt and tungsten, and leaching cobalt present in a processing object under a leaching condition of pH 4.5 to 5.0; a solid-liquid separation step S2 of solid-liquid separating an acid leach slurry obtained in the acid leach step, and obtaining a leach residue containing tungsten and a leached liquid containing cobalt; a pH adjustment step S3 of adjusting the pH of the leached liquid; a filtration step S4 of filtering the leached liquid; a tungsten adsorption step S5 of contacting the leached liquid after filtration and pH adjustment with an ion exchange resin, thereby causing tungsten remaining in the leached liquid to be adsorbed by the ion exchange resin; and a step S6 of recovering an effluent after contact with the ion exchange resin as a refined cobalt solution.
