To enable releasing of coupled columnar bodies by moving a key member.
A method for separating coupled columnar bodies includes: comprising a key member 7 to be mounted across an inner-facing peripheral groove 5 and an outer-facing peripheral groove 6 with an externally-fitted pipe part 2 and an internally-fitted column part 3 mutually coupled; forming the key member 7 so as to be housed in the state of being inwardly retracted from an entrance of either the inner-facing peripheral groove 5 or the outer-facing peripheral groove 6; providing an operating bolt A for moving the key member 7 from a state of being inwardly retracted in the inner-facing peripheral groove 5 or the outer-facing peripheral groove 6 to a state of coming across the inner-facing peripheral groove 5 and the outer-facing peripheral groove 6; providing a communication part allowing communication between the inner-facing peripheral groove 5 and an outside of the externally-fitted pipe part 2; pouring cleaning water into the inner-facing peripheral groove 5 via the communication part, thereby flushing out a solid matter entering the inner-facing peripheral groove 5 or the outer-facing peripheral groove 6; and retracting the key member 7 inward the inner-facing peripheral groove 5 by operating the operating bolt A, followed by separating the adjacent columnar bodies.
