PURPOSE: To enable a metal tape and a plastic sheath, which are joined to form a laminated sheath strip, to be separated easily, by pressing the laminated sheath strip between a pair of rotating rolls with the metal tape in contact with the roll surface whose temperature is higher than the other.
CONSTITUTION: The laminated sheath piece 3 that has been removed from a cable core, consists of the joined metal tape 31 and plastic sheath 32 and is concave in cross section is inserted between a pair of rotating rolls 1, 2. The roll 1 is kept at normal temperature, and the roll 2 is heated by built-in sheathed heaters (h) or the like. The laminated sheath piece 3 is inserted, with the surface of the metal tape 31 engaged with the surface of the roll 2. The metal tape 31 is heated so that the adhesive is melted or becomes semi-melted state, is pressed and is delivered out, and when the metal tape 31 is away from the rolls 1, 2, the metal tape 31 and the plastic sheath 32 are separated completely.
