Abstract:
To provide a method for separating a carbon nanotube of a semiconductor type from the carbon nanotube in which a metal type and a semiconductor type are mixed, in which separability is improved.SOLUTION: A first substance, a second substance, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), and sodium cholate (SC) are mixed into solvent to produce mixed solution. Then, a carbon nanotube in which a metal type and a semiconductor type are mixed is added to the mixed solution, which is mixed and agitated to produce dispersion liquid. Then, the dispersion liquid is left to stand, and separated into two layers which are a first layer mainly containing a first polymer and a second layer mainly containing a second polymer. As the dispersion liquid is separated into two layers, a semiconductor-type carbon nanotube having a predetermined length and predetermined chirality moves to the first layer, and another semiconductor-type carbon nanotube or a metal type carbon nanotube moves to the second layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
