Abstract:
To provide a method for separating by filtration a water-soluble cellulose ether from a suspension of such a water-soluble cellulose ether as an alkylcellulose and a hydroxyalkylcellulose, with avoiding the clogging which is caused at the time of separating by filtration and with enabling to use for a long time.
The method comprises the steps of filtering a suspension of a water-soluble cellulose ether by means of a pressurized filter using a perforated metal or ceramic as a filter material, and of removing the filtration cake of the water-soluble cellulose ether, and thereafter of washing the filter material with any of vapor, compressed air and pressurized water.
