Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set an optimum operating condition of a driving current, power of signal light and power of continuous light of a cross phase modulation type entire optical wavelength transducer.
SOLUTION: In this cross phase modulation type entire optical wavelength transducer, a Mach-Zehnder type optical interference circuit is constituted by mounting SOAs(semiconductor optical amplifier) 7, 8 on a PLC(plane light wave circuit) 10. Then, when signal light and continuous light are inputted to this transducer, output light having the same wavelength as that of the continuous light is outputted. Moreover, driving currents Imod, Ipc are supplied respectively to the SOA 7 and the SOA 8. At this time, current to be supplied can be reduced by optimally setting values of the power of the signal light, the power of the continuous light and driving currents Imod, Ipc.
