PURPOSE: To provide a method for setting time in transmission units by which errors in setting time are reduced.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of transmission units 200-1 to 200-(n) longitudinally connected together by a transmission line and having an real time control portion 400 which sets time by a time set signal from a system control portion 100 are each provided with a storage portion 700 in which data indicating delay time determined at each device with respect to a time set signal from the system control portion 100 are stored. When each transmission unit 200-1 to 200-(n) receives a time set signal from the system control portion 100, the real time control portion 400 reads data stored in the storage portion 700 and indicating the delay time and addes the delay time to the time set signal and the result of this addition is set as reference time in each transmission device.
