Abstract:
To provide a method for setting the zero point of a roll gap in a vertical rolling mill simply and precisely.
In setting the zero point of the roll gap in a vertical rolling mill which rolls a steel plate or the like, a comparison is made between an actually measured value and an estimated value of a change in the width of the steel plate due to rolling including a vertical rolling pass in the vertical rolling mill, whereby an error in setting the zero point of the roll gap in the vertical rolling mill is so calculated that the zero point of the vertical roll gap is set.
