Title:
METHOD OF SHIPPING LEAD STORAGE BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6020461
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable a lead storage battery to be maintained at high efficiency in a rechargable condition by suppressing conversion of a PbO2 layer formed due to corrosion on the surface of a current collector into an inactive PbSO4 layer by connecting an impedance means to the battery in shipping it so as to cause it to undergo compulsory electric discharge.

CONSTITUTION: A chip resistance 9 is an impedance means one end of which is electrically connected to a positive terminal 8 in an exterior case 1. A part of the chip resistance 9 is exposed above the exterior case 1. In shipping lead storage batteries from a factory, the exterior case 1 is enwrapped in an installation case 10 which is made of a covering material and can be divided into two parts. A pattern film 11 consisting of a conductive member is printed on the inner surface of the top of the installation case 10. The pattern film 11, when the exterior case 1 is covered by the installation case 10, electrically connects the other end of the chip resistance 9 to a negative terminal 7.
