Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical and efficient method for manufacturing simultaneously two kinds of MDI isomer streams having clear composition.SOLUTION: A process for separating a diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) mixer isomer supply material stream (MIx) into two MDI mixed isomer streams (MIy and MIz) by a single process of a suspension molten crystallization process is contained, where x, y and z are weight% of 4,4'-MDI isomer contained in the MDI isomer mixture, x is 80 to 92, y is 97 to 99 and z is 60 to 80, the suspension molten crystallization process includes a crystallization process and crystal is formed in the crystallization process and separated from liquid by a following separation process, thereby an isomer mixture is formed by melting the crystal, a residual mother liquid is divided into a recirculation steam and a second isomer mixture, and the recirculation steam may be fed back to a crystallization section.
