Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of selecting a proper slime control agent in a short time even when resistance-inducing microorganisms are generated and effectively suppressing slime by adding a small amount of the slime control agent to the source, in a papermaking process where slime is controlled by using a slime control agent.
SOLUTION: This method comprises collecting samples in a papermaking process, analyzing microbial phase of each sample based on the base sequence of DNA, judging whether the detected microorganisms having resistance to the working slime control agent or not and specifying a collecting point to be the source of the resistance-inducing microorganisms, wherein the ratio of the resistance-inducing microorganisms is high in the collecting point. And the method comprises referring a database accumulating data of effective concentrations of several kinds of slime control agents to microorganisms by using the resistance-inducing microorganisms as the retrieval key, selecting a new slime control agent and adding the new slime control agent to the source of the resistance-inducing microorganisms.
