Abstract:
To provide a smelting method of an oxide ore capable of efficiently recovering a metal contained in the oxide ore.SOLUTION: A smelting method is configured to apply a reduction treatment to a mixture including an oxide ore and a carbonaceous reductant to obtain a reduced product containing a metal and a slag. The smelting method of an oxide ore includes a desiccation step of desiccating the mixture with an external heat type kiln. The desiccation step is preferably configured to desiccate by the external heat type kiln so that moisture percentage in the mixture is 10.0 mass% or less. The external heat type kiln is preferably equipped with a burner as a heat source.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
