Title:
METHOD OF SOLIDIFICATION OF RADIOACTIVE WASTE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002131481
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To make it easy to handle concrete cut sludge, operate safely and produce wastes which are excellent in their stability and the performance of volume reduction in the solidification of it.

After a dehydration 2 treatment is given to the slurry 1 of the concrete cut sludge, the dehydrated sludge 3 is mixed 5 with an admixture 4. The mixture is transported to a cement solidifying facility 7 and a cementitious solidifying material 8 is added to the mixture to mix 9 the former with the latter. The mixture obtained in the previous process is poured 10 into a solidifying container to be solidified. The slurry 1 of the concrete cut sludge is made by cutting concrete wastes generated at the decommissioning of nuclear facilities and is the slurry of the cut sludge contained in cooling water when concrete wastes are cut. The admixture 4 is sodium phosphate, calcium carbonate, carboxylic acid, lignin sulfonate and the like. The cementitious solidifying material 8 is the minute ground product of the concrete cut block.
