Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a method wherein dynamic physical properties which is highly satisfactory for practical purpose in stages of design are specified by a simple technique and with high precision in specification in regard to the performance of a structure made of FRP which is long and constructed of nonuniform sections and a multilayer structure.
CONSTITUTION: The full length of an FRP structure being long and having nonuniform sections and a multilayer structure, such as a golf club or a fishing rod, is divided in the longitudinal direction and dynamic physical properties such as the cross-sectional area of a section, flexural rigidity, torsional rigidity and the like at each point of division are calculated. The average values of the dynamic physical properties of the opposite end faces at each point of division are used as values of the dynamic physical properties of the divided element and thereby the dynamic physical properties of the whole structure are specified.
