PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify the migration state of a diabetes patient to diabetic nephritis by detecting the qualitative and quantitative change of heparin sulfuric acid in the urine specimen of the diabetes patient.
SOLUTION: In diabetes nephritis, the metabolic abnormality in heparin sulfuric acid being present in a ground film occurs and the qualitative and quantitative change of heparin sulfuric acid occurs in the urine of a patient due to the progress of nephritis. Therefore, by detecting the qualitative and quantitative change in the heparin sulfuric acid in the urine specimen of the diabetes patient, the migration state of the diabetes patient to diabetic nephritis can be specified. The qualitative and quantitative change indicate the change in, for example, the amount of specific heparin sulfuric acid, amount of molecule, and amount of sulfuric acid group where either residual group of the constitution sugar is subjected to some sort of modification. As a determination method for detecting the qualitative and quantitative change in heparin sulfuric acid, an antigen antibody reaction due to heparin sulfuric acid and antiheparin sulfuric acid antibody in a specimen is used, thus rapidly specifying the migration of the diabetes patient to diabetic nephritis.
