To provide a method for specifying a tread pattern of a tire, which specifies available tread pattern of the tire to perform stability control of a traveling vehicle, and to provide an apparatus thereof.
Accelerations generated in the X, Y, and Z directions are detected by sensor units 100 provided on each tire 2 of a vehicle 1, and also noise components in the low frequency and the high frequency, superposed on the acceleration signal in the Z-axis direction are extracted, to transmit the digital values of the detected results to a monitor device 200 by electromagnetic waves, as digital information. The monitor device 200 specifies the tire tread pattern, by comparing a large number of tire tread pattern information that have previously been stored, with these digital information. A stability control unit 700 compensates and controls a sub-throttle actuator 412 and an actuator 640 for driving a brake, based on the obtained acceleration values and tire tread pattern information.
