Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for synthesizing/refining a substance containing little impurity by thermal plasma, and an apparatus therefor, and to provide a spheroidizing method with the use of thermal plasma for obtaining a spherical powder which contains few fine powders mixed and has a uniform grain size, and an apparatus therefor.
SOLUTION: The apparatus for synthesizing/refining or spheroidizing a powder synthesizes/refines or spheroidizes a raw powder by heating and melting it with plasma flame, and collects the powder into a collection vessel in the bottom of a reaction tower. The synthesizing/refining method comprises installing a fine-powder-collecting means 20 on an inner wall of a cylindrical member 32 of the reaction tower 31 in the apparatus, collecting the fine powder 5 containing impurities or having various grain sizes with the fine-powder-collecting means 20, and recovering the remaining spherical particles 4 by dropping them into the collection vessel 33, to obtain a powder containing few impurities and having high purity, or a product powder 4 having the uniform grain size. The fine-powder-collecting means 20 has a pan 21 installed on an internal circumference of the inner wall of the cylindrical member 32 in the reaction tower, and an aspiration means for aspirating the fine powder gathering on the pan.
